This week Gridence participated to test and validate our product in Griffin Tech Days 2026 at the Rovajärvi training area in Finnish Lapland, an exceptional arena hosted by the Finnish Special Forces and organized byXD Solutionsto test and evaluate technology in harsh cold and arctic conditions. The event brought together industry, academia, the Finnish Defence Forces, and NATO allies to demonstrate capabilities under real-world pressure.
Despite temperatures dropping to -30°C, Gridence’s airspace situational awareness system performed flawlessly throughout the event. While the extreme cold proved challenging for many drones, our system reliably tracked large and small UAVs in real time. We delivered an up-to-date operational picture of the airspace activity to the organisers, provided instant alerts whenever a drone deviated from its assigned area, and enabled effective location of lost or downed drones in the terrain.
Our system, running on a tablet during the event, enabled seamless monitoring of airspace traffic directly in the field with full mobility—no need to be tied to a desk. This demonstrated how well-suited Gridence is for supervising drone test ranges, managing combined manned and unmanned aviation environments, and enhancing safety at airfields where drone operations take place nearby.
The rigorous arctic testing confirmed that our system is field-proven, reliable even in the most demanding conditions, and now ready and available for new customers.
